Meet Amy C. Bassili

Amy’s practice focuses mainly on employment law and she represents both employers and employees in all aspects of employment law including privacy matters, wrongful and constructive dismissal claims, investigations, non-solicitation and non-competition agreements, employment standards complaints and human rights disputes.

Amy also practices in business litigation including complex commercial matters involving investment fraud, contract law and tort claims. She has appeared in all levels of Alberta Court and was counsel in a 4 week-long trial and subsequent appeal involving issues of fraudulent representation in relation to business valuation, with damages amounting to 17 million.

Amy’s professional affiliations include membership in the Law Society of Alberta, the Law Society of Northwest Territories, the Edmonton Bar Association, the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association and the Canadian Bar Association. She is on the Executive for the Canadian Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Subsection, a committee member of the Canadian Bar Association’s Administration of Justice Committee, and a member of the Canadian Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Subsection.

Amy is a regular presenter at seminars and courses for the Canadian Bar Association, the Rotary Club of Edmonton, and other continued professional development forums. She presently volunteers as a vision mate for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind and enjoys providing counsel and career mentorship to junior lawyers.
